NIGHTWISH acaba de lanzar el segundo vídeo de su último disco, "Dark Passion Play". Tras "Amaranth" ahora es el turno de la canción "Bye Bye Beautiful". El director de ambos vídeos fue Antti Jokinen (KORN, STRATOVARIUS, SHANIA TWAIN).

NIGHTWISH, concierto secreto.

Los finlandeses NIGHTWISH, ofrecieron el pasado sábado un concierto secreto en Estonia, el primero con su nueva vocalista, Aette Olzon bajo el nombre de NACHTWASSER, como anunciaba la publicidad del evento.

Integrantes de NIGHTWISH y SONATA ARCTICA anuncian nuevo proyecto

NORTHERN KINGS es el nombre del nuevo proyecto musical formado por los finlandeses J. Ahola (TERÄSBETONI), Marco Hietala (TAROT, NIGHTWISH), Tony Kakko (SONATA ARCTICA) y J-P Leppäluoto (CHARON).

La banda espera lanzar el próximo 24 de Octubre su primer disco el cual estará compuesto por covers de clasicos hits de los 80s. Este disco será precedido por el single "We Don't Need Another Hero" (original de TYNA TURNER).

Entrevista a Toumas, Nightwih

DERROCHE DE PASIÓN

Cualquier adversidad es poca, para la que quizás, sea una de las tres mejores formaciones finlandesas, NIGHTWISH. Como todo sabéis, la marcha de su antigua vocalista, Tarja Turunen, supuso un duro golpe tanto para el grupo como para sus seguidores, pero lejos de hundirse, la banda liderada por Tuomas Holopainen encontró, tras una larga búsqueda, a la sustituta perfecta, Anette Olzon, quien con una voz más melódica y suave, se presenta como la mujer perfecta para el grupo. “Dark Passion Play” es el primer legado con ella, un disco de gigantescas dimensiones, que ofrece un nuevo paso delante de esta genial formación. Tanto Tuomas como Anette, pasaron por Madrid durante el verano para charlar con la prensa, RockTotal no podía faltar a la cita, y junto a Tuomas, indagó más sobre su nueva andadura.

Sin duda, el título de este nuevo trabajo es casi poético, atractivo, ¿qué te llevó a escogerlo?

Pues de algún modo describe de qué trata el disco, al menos para mí, pero también desnuda la música de NIGHTWISH en todo este tiempo, es oscuro, es pasional, es un juego entre ambas cosas.

Y en cuanto a las letras, ¿qué me puedes contar? Porque no parece que sea un disco conceptual. ¿Algún tema trata el complicado tema con Tarja?

Así es, no es un álbum conceptual, y sí, por supuesto, tratamos ese asunto, como en “Bye Bye Beautiful”, pero prefiero no hablar mucho ahora del tema de las letras, dado que quiero que la gente las descubra cuando salga el disco, es mejor así y además más bonito (risas).

¿Puedes contarme algo acerca de la salida de Tarja?

Uff, la verdad es que es un tema que no me gusta, ha pasado ya bastante tiempo y he decidido no volver a hablar de él, podéis ver todo en nuestra web, con todos los detalles, porque prefiero mirar hacia el futuro que centrarme en el pasado.

¿Fue difícil dar con Anette como nueva vocalista?

Aquí en España se escucharon numerosos rumores de posibles nuevas cantantes para el grupo.Lo sé, no te puedes ni imaginar los rumores que llegamos a oír, sobre todo en Finlandia, Liv Kristine fue una de las cantantes que intentaron meter en el saco, pero la verdad es que recibimos como 2000 demos con vocalistas, después de escuchar y tantear varias vocalistas, vimos que Anette era la idónea para el grupo.

Un disco muy novedoso y con muchos matizes. El cambio de cantante
a influido en la nueva percepción de la banda en general, por eso devemos
escucharlo, no como el Nightwish que ya conociamos, sino que de otra
perspectiva. No es malo, quizá no me he acostumbrado a la nueva vocalista,
pero creo que no canta mal, solo necesita tiempo esta "nueva banda".
El disco consta de muchos temas buenos, en los que incluye The Poet and the Pendulum, Master Passion Greed, entre otras. Muy novedoso, mucha calidad musical, quizá vocal no la esperada o acostumbrada, pero hay que agudizar el oído a la nueva era de Nightwish, que le falta experiencia, pero con este disco dan un comienzo que espero que nos llene de mucho gozo y escuchando Nightwish por mucho Más.
